The Story

On Oct-13-2024, police stopped two people driving a stolen vehicle in Portland, Oregon, USA. Inside the car, officers discovered a bunch of concerning items — including cash, weighing scales, a loaded handgun, and notably a canvas bag labeled “Definitely not a bag full of drugs.”

If you’re interested, you can even buy a similar bag from Amazon. I know, I know, shameless Amazon Affiliate plug, but come on, imagine someone’s reaction opening a nicely wrapped box to discover this?

Anyways, of course… the bag contained a variety of illegal substances — including m-th and f-ntanyl — totaling more than 10 grams, along with other packaged drugs.

The driver was identified as Reginald Lamont Reynolds, 35, and the passenger as Mia Rochelle Baggenstos, 37. Both were arrested at the scene; Reynolds faced multiple charges including unlawful possession and delivery of m-thamphetamine, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Baggenstos was booked on the same charges, though prosecutors later chose not to pursue charges against her.

Reactions

The only thing that would have made this more amusing is if the bag were clear and still had that same label. Different people had other ideas:

At the very least, don’t break the law in a stolen car.

Me too, gimme. Any takers?

Definitely not a very good idea, but who knows maybe it worked for them for awhile?

I think it’s also safe to call this idiocy.
